Questions
How do I install a Claude Code plugin?
Add the marketplace that lists it, then install it by name: claude plugin marketplace add owner/repo followed by claude plugin install plugin-name@marketplace-name. Inside a session the same thing is /plugin marketplace add owner/repo and /plugin install plugin-name@marketplace-name. Every plugin page here shows the exact two lines.
How do I install a Codex plugin?
Codex uses the same two steps: codex plugin marketplace add owner/repo, then codex plugin add plugin-name@marketplace-name. Codex reads its own .agents/plugins/marketplace.json and also Claude's .claude-plugin/marketplace.json.
Where does this list come from?
From GitHub. Every day we look for repositories with a .claude-plugin/marketplace.json, .claude-plugin/plugin.json, .codex-plugin/plugin.json or .agents/plugins/marketplace.json, read the manifests the same way the CLIs do, and list what each plugin contains. Nothing here is hand-written.
How do I get my plugin listed?
If it's a public GitHub repo with a plugin manifest, it will be found automatically. To list it right now, paste the repo URL on the Add a plugin page — it's checked and live in seconds, and you'll see any manifest problems that would break installs.
Is a plugin safe to install?
Plugins can run code: hooks fire on events and MCP servers start local processes. Each plugin page lists those exact commands, so you can read them before installing.
